Joint ESD – MTET PhD Workshop

Our first joint ESD-MTET PhD workshop took place in Siegburg from 26 - 27 September 2023, attended by around 50 PhD students. They gained an insight into the Helmholtz Research Field Energy and the two programs Energy System Design (ESD) and Materials and Technologies for the Energy Transition (MTET). Afterwards, the PhD students presented their own research work in the "Pitch your research" and discussed in workshops on the topics circular economy, decarbonize (process) heat, technology assessment, Open X and hydrogen logistics. In addition to the thematic exchange, the aim of the workshop was cross-program networking as well as "looking beyond the horizon" into other research topics. The event will take place again at regular intervals, which is also supported by the positive feedback from the participants.
